Nobody likes eating garbage

I stayed at my friend Ashley's house last night. I'm still alittle sick, and Tre is fully recovered, so it wasn't the best idea to have us in the same house.

YAY! I had a night a night with a choice to watch something other than cartoons and G-rated movies. LOL I decided to watch an episode of the Countdown with Keith Olberman.

Keep in mind President Obama has only been in office for 17 days. Please let me know your opinion. Here's a clip from last night's show...

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I'd like to address all the negativity on Television. Is it just me or does anyone else notice how much violence, hate, and drama are portrayed on the majority of these T.V. shows?

People wonder why people commit hate crimes, what would possess a person to do such a thing? How could anyone kill someone? Why would a man want to rape a woman? How did someone develop a desire to molest a child? How could those kids go to school and kill their fellow students?

Television can take a portion of the blame.

It's a leisure activity the majority of the population indulges in on a daily basis. I believe it's almost as addictive as any drug. It becomes a way for people to escape their own problems because it requires little thought activity.

When your mind becomes inactive from it's thought process, it begins to absorb thoughts and images being projected from the television screen.

This is where you enter a state of Receptive Unawareness. Anybody selling a product on a commercial or infomercial love for you to be in this state of mind. It's very easy in the late hours of the night to persuade their thoughts to become your thoughts. Somehow you end up on the phone purchasing a product you really don't need and doesn't fulfill the duties the infomercial proclaimed it would do.

The News exposes the most negative information to the public because it draws in viewers. They report on robbery, murder, religious differences, hate crimes or the juiciest gossip in Hollywood to keep your attention. This projects nothing but negative energy. It makes people live in fear. Sometimes it gives the impression that you can committ crimes and not get caught. It creates animosity between people of different race and religions because a certain person with a certain religious affiliation committed a crime against another person who was of a different religious affiliation. It's a shame.

Don't get me wrong, there are some great shows out there that have helped people or provide inspiration to others as in Joel Osteen. But the majority of the shows are controlled by money hungry individuals who don't care about the content of these shows being exposed or influencing the average person.

There are often subliminal messages hidden in these commercials and shows. A hidden message is usually not beneficial to you.

Be careful what you feed your mind.

I prefer reading a book or just plain sticking to my son's cartoons and G-rated movies.
