Don't let the VIRUS infect you

Don't be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character".
1 Corinthians 15:33

The world is full of "bad company" that we can't avoid. The best solution is to recognize them for what they are and not let them influence your personal life.

You have a choice in who you hang around with, but since it takes time to really get to know someone, you're bound to make a few mistakes in judgement towards anyone new in your life. You become good friends with someone who is fun to be around and eases your loneliness but you soon discover you don't really like some of the things this person does or how the conduct themselves in certain situations. It's hard to just break off the relationship or friendship without conflict. It's hard to seperate yourself from this person because you might feel the need to help them or wanna change them for the better. You might even make excuses for their poor character traits to justify continuing the friendship/relationship.

Once you've reached this point, and you don't distance yourself from this person, your character starts to become corrupted. Overlooking their character flaws, brings trouble into your life.

People only change if they want to change. You can't change someone. If you continue to hang around bad company, you'll become bad company yourself. Things start to not seem so bad, when everyone around you is doing it.

Keep this in mind...The Devil never changes, he only changes you!

  1. You couldn't be more right. When you surround yourself with negative influences, you start to pick up the same traits. I read your blogs everyday, you have a pretty good noggin.
